The £10 million scheme compromised of a new two storey structure sited in an area of the college campus to the north of the main building. The project also incorporated a new man-made lake; sports pitch and associated hard and soft landscaping.
The Challenge
Increased demand for T-Level enrolment places led Burnley College to commission a new teaching building with both classroom learning and workshop learning. The aim was to create a modern environment that promotes learning, collaboration, and wellbeing, whilst strengthening links between education and local industry.
The Outcome
By providing a pragmatic, straight forward and collaborative approach, SkW ensured the Client Team, Design Team and Principal Contractor, achieved Regulatory compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. The award winning Industry Hub will play a vital role in helping Burnley College meet the needs of its expanding student body and the local workforce, further solidifying its position as a leader in technical education.
